Agentic Developer
Company Overview
It is an owner-operated veterinary practice building a custom, fully vertically integrated SaaS platform to solve gaps in veterinary workflows and practice management. The company blends hands-on clinical care with software creation: the founder is a practicing veterinarian who is actively developing an agentic system to streamline operations, improve patient care, and bring a proof-of-concept to their hospital. The culture is fast-moving, collaborative, and mission-driven — small-team mentality with a focus on speed, practicality, and clinical safety.
Mission
We are looking for an Agentic Developer to help build and harden our VetBrain SaaS — someone who can move quickly from idea to proof-of-concept in a live hospital environment. You'll work alongside a clinician-founder to develop agentic components, patch and prevent issues, and teach the agentic workforce to maintain itself. If you enjoy taking initiative, solving messy real-world problems, and shipping reliable systems that directly impact patient care — you'll feel right at home.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will vary, giving you room to learn, grow, and strengthen your skills while supporting the team with excellence.
- Help develop the custom, vertically integrated VetBrain SaaS and iterate toward a working proof-of-concept at the hospital.
- Implement and extend agentic components according to the existing claude-code approach and agentic engineering principles.
- Triage, debug, and patch bugs/errors quickly in production and test environments.
- Build monitoring, alerting, and observability to detect and prevent future software issues.
- Teach and refine the agentic workforce so it can autonomously maintain and remediate routine problems.
- Design and implement safeguards and practices that keep the clinical system safe and reliable.
- Identify architectural gaps, propose pragmatic solutions, and take ownership of implementation.
- Write clean, well-documented code and maintain clear documentation for clinical and engineering stakeholders.
- Create and run tests (unit/integration) and support CI/CD practices to ensure safe deployments.
- Collaborate closely with the veterinarian owner-operator to balance clinical requirements and engineering trade-offs.
- Review code, mentor where appropriate, and help create a culture of engineering rigor and clinical safety.
- Support on-site proof-of-concept work at the hospital as needed and coordinate deployments in the live clinical environment.
