Company Overview
The company is a fast-growing residential solar business dedicated to bringing clean energy solutions to homeowners. The business focuses on operational excellence, high-volume installation management, and strong financial rigor to maintain clean books, support strategic decision-making, and drive sustained scalability and growth.
Mission
We are looking for a hands-on Finance Controller to own the general ledger and establish a clean, accurate financial operating rhythm. In this role, your primary focus will be cleaning up historical books, performing complex reconciliations, delivering actionable financial dashboards, and overseeing weekly sales commission approvals. Working closely with operations, sales, and executive leadership, you will eliminate financial inefficiencies and ensure all strategic business decisions are backed by timely, reliable data.
Key Responsibilities
- Your daily tasks will vary, giving you room to learn, grow, and strengthen your skills while supporting the team with excellence.
- Clean up and maintain the general ledger (historical cleanup plus ongoing monthly accuracy).
- Perform and own all key accounts reconciliations (bank, credit cards, AR/AP, intercompany, commissions, and job funding).
- Build and deliver regular financial reports and dashboards (P&L, cash flow projections, job costing, commission tracking, and financial KPIs).
- Identify financial inefficiencies, operational process gaps, and cost or cash leaks; recommend and implement targeted solutions.
- Review and approve weekly sales commissions for accuracy, completeness, and strict policy compliance.
- Lead month-end close procedures, assist with audit and tax preparation, and perform ad-hoc financial analysis for leadership.
- Continuously improve financial processes and documentation to keep accounting scalable as business volume grows.
Qualifications
- Years of Experience: 4+ years of hands-on accounting or finance experience (as a Controller, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or similar role).
- Tools & Software: Advanced proficiency in accounting software/ERPs (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Online), advanced Excel/Google Sheets (financial modeling, formulas, pivot tables), and reporting tools.
- Industry Knowledge Required: Deep knowledge of general ledger management, complex reconciliations, commission structures, and financial reporting. Experience in residential solar, construction, or high-volume service/job-costing industries is a strong plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional general ledger maintenance and complex reconciliation capabilities.
- Proven ability to clean up messy, incomplete, or historical accounting records independently.
- Strong skill in translating raw financial data into clear, intuitive reports for non-finance stakeholders.
- Process-oriented mindset focused on discovering operational inefficiencies and cash leaks rather than just recording transactions.
- Obsessive attention to detail and ability to work under tight recurring deadlines (weekly commission runs and monthly closes).
Technical Requirements
- Own PC or laptop with strong processing capabilities
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection (wired connection recommended)
- Noise-cancelling headset and a quiet, professional workspace
- Ability to operate securely with sensitive company data, systems, and software
Position Description
- Working Hours: 8 hours/day, 6:00 PM – 3:00 AM Beirut Time
- Working Days: 5 days a week (Monday through Friday)
- Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
- Work Location: Fully-remote, you can work from anywhere
- PTO (Paid Time Off): Approved time off on Lebanese national holidays (~14 days annually) with advance notice
- Salary Range: $2,200 - $2,800 USD/month
