Position: Interconnection & Permitting Specialist
Working Hours: 9 hours, from 4 PM till 1 AM Beirut Time - Remote
Salary Range: 2,500 - 3,000 USD/per month
Company Overview
The company is a residential solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partner that designs, sells, installs, and services solar and energy storage systems for homeowners. It manages the entire project lifecycle—from sales and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and permission to operate (PTO)—and supports systems long after energization with dedicated service and maintenance across Connecticut. Flexible financing options, including cash, loan, and lease/PPA, make clean energy accessible while upholding high standards for quality, safety, and compliance.
You’ll join a collaborative, detail-driven team that values ownership, transparency, and doing right by customers. The culture emphasizes craftsmanship in the field, accuracy in the back office, and a commitment to delivering a smooth, reliable experience from contract to PTO.
Mission
As an Interconnection & Permitting Specialist, you’ll be the linchpin connecting engineering, utilities, AHJs, and the field. Your day-to-day includes reviewing plan sets, preparing and submitting interconnection applications, filing building and electrical permits, and tracking every milestone through to PTO. You’ll manage utility and AHJ portals, respond to RFIs, coordinate revisions with engineering and project management, schedule inspections, and keep clean, up-to-date records that keep projects moving.
We’re looking for a detail-obsessed professional with strong utility interconnection knowledge, persistence, and excellent follow-through—ideally with experience submitting applications in Connecticut. If you enjoy process, precision, problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork—you’ll feel right at home.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will vary, giving you room to learn, grow, and strengthen your skills while supporting the team with excellence. You’ll own the flow of information between design, utilities, AHJs, and operations to keep projects on schedule through PTO.

- Respond to utility/AHJ questions, corrections, and requests for additional information (RFIs)
- Coordinate revisions and resubmittals between engineering/design, project management, and utility/AHJ contacts
- Track utility approvals and conditions of interconnection; communicate requirements to stakeholders
- Coordinate required inspections and utility prerequisites leading to meter swap and PTO
- Manage the project path through Permission to Operate (PTO), confirming final approvals and documentation
- Maintain an up-to-date database/report of interconnection and permitting status for every project
- Identify issues that could delay construction or PTO (e.g., service upgrades, transformer constraints) and escalate promptly
- Collaborate with procurement and scheduling so permits and IC approvals align with build schedules
- Stay current on local codes, utility tariffs, and program requirements, with emphasis on Connecticut
