Mission

We are hiring a Senior Accountant for a boutique finance advisory firm that operates as a full finance department for small to mid-sized businesses (2–50 employees, $1M–$60M revenue). The role will start with foundational accounting tasks and gradually expand to include client-facing responsibilities and potential managerial growth. The hire will learn, analyze, and document SOPs for all assigned tasks as part of healthy onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will vary, giving you room to learn, grow, and strengthen your skills while supporting the team with excellence.

  • Run full monthly closes in QuickBooks Online, including bank, credit-card, and payment-processor reconciliations.
  • Reconcile Shopify and PayPal activity to the general ledger, including fees, refunds, chargebacks, and timing differences.
  • Maintain and reconcile e-commerce inventory and cost-of-goods-sold so platform reports tie to the books.
  • Prepare GST/HST returns for owner review, applying Canadian sales tax rules (place of supply, multi-province sales, registration thresholds).
  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable workflows.
  • Produce clean internal financial statements and reporting packages suitable for client delivery with minimal editing.
  • Reconcile complex payment-processor payouts and diagnose unresolved timing or allocation issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bookkeeping setup problems, prior-bookkeeper errors, and catch-up/cleanup engagements.
  • Use apps like A2X and Dext (or similar) to import and reconcile platform data.
  • Document your work as clear SOPs and propose process improvements to make recurring tasks faster and cleaner.
  • Work unsupervised on client files and escalate to the owner only when necessary.
  • Support transition to higher-level reporting and advisory tasks as your role expands.

Qualifications

  • Years of Experience: 5+ years
  • CRM Tool: Not required
  • Softwares: Must-Have QuickBooks, Shopify, Connectors A2X or Dext experience (Shopify-to-QuickBooks integrations)
  • Industry Knowledge Required: E-commerce accounting, Canadian GST/HST, professional-services/retainer billing. Advisory or fractional CFO background.
  • Specific Gender: Male candidates preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written English suitable for client-facing deliverables with minimal editing
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to diagnose and resolve accounting problems independently
  • Attention to detail and high standards for clean, auditable books
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills, especially for payment processors and inventory/COGS
  • Process-improvement mindset and ability to document clear SOPs
  • Comfortable working in a small-team, high-autonomy environment

Technical Requirements

  • Own PC or laptop
  • Reliable internet connection (wired connection recommended)
  • Noise-cancelling headset and a quiet, professional workspace
  • Familiarity with cloud accounting tools (QuickBooks Online) and e-commerce connectors (A2X, Dext) and platforms (Shopify, PayPal)

Position Description

  • Working Hours: 8 hours, from 4 PM till 12 AM Beirut Time
  • Working Days: 5 days a week
  • Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
  • Work Location: Fully-remote, you can work from anywhere
  • PTO (Paid Time Off): 14 Lebanese national holidays per year approved for time off.
  • Salary Range: 1500$ - 2000$
